Hello everyone it is me again. This year I am writing about our three day stay at Wakefield.

On Friday 10th August, we met at St. Peter’s Church to leave for Wakefield, The coach arrived late (no surprises there) On the way lots of things happened but Shane wasn’t sick.

At lunchtime we arrived at the Read School in Drax, we went to our room and sort of unpacked. I was sharing a room with Jacob and Adam but I had to sleep on the floor on a mattress.

We went to a room, which the owner said was called the noisy room and he told us that the room next door was the quiet room.

Robert and parents of Aiden, Anthony, Jacob and Adam, Please skip the rest of this page, not really folks something bad happened in our room. I will probably get crucified for writing this but here we go. Jacob, Aiden, Anthony and myself all went mad and scoffed a lot at Midnight-feast.

Robert said we could have an early morning swim but I didn’t. I stayed in bed and played my Game boy. I had a swim later the water was freezing until Aiden pushed me under then I felt warm, even though I nearly drowned. We played tug of war. After an hour of swimming mum came in (not in the water) but to say hello. I hid underwater then after a while I got out and went to the hall to see my mum and Marjorie. Like most women she was having a cup of tea, we had a chat about what I had done and then I ran back to my room to get my clothes on again.

We went to Wakefield on the coach, we all ran into the Cathedral and had some photo’s taken. We had a look around and put on our Cassocks. We waited outside the vestry for the vicar, it was very strange when we got to the passage we had to look at the vicar, he said a prayer, then he rang a bell and we walked in procession up the Cathedral (without a hymn).

In the service the vicar’s helper sprinkled incense over us but no one sneezed this time. We sang a few hymns and my favourite anthem Lift up ye heads o ye gates.

After the service we all went into the shop, I bought two teddies with blue sashes, which said a present from Wakefield Cathedral. My teddy had a problem, his leg fell off.

When we arrived back at the school we all met in the noisy room and had a snack and did what we wanted to do for two hours. Instead of playing my Game Boy I went outside to play with some kites, but some of them were broken. We got an excellent view of Homer Simpson’s nuclear Power plant.

Poor Adam had a very bad problem-Diarrhoea from the curry at lunchtime. I had to get him a new pair of pants. When Adam felt better it was time for our midnight feast, we had a whole room full of people but after about one hour of scoffing sweets, Robert told us it was lights out.

On Sunday, I felt like going for an early morning swim I went with Jacob. While we were playing tug of war Jacob let go of the rope and I went flying into the wall and got a huge scratch on my arm. We went back to the room to see Adam who was still in bed we woke him up, he had another attack. After breakfast we were told get changed for our Eucharist in the Cathedral.

When we arrived at the cathedral we had no time to practice, we just got our cassocks on and started the procession and finished with an anthem "My soul there is a country".

After the service we had another look around and headed off for the school. For a few hours we played in the swimming pool. After dinner we left for the Cathedral for Evensong. The service started with a beautiful hymn, I can’t remember the name. We sang God be in my head and finished with Lift up ye head o ye gates.

After the service we went back to the school did not have a room full of people tonight.

I woke up at about 6 am, but went back to sleep as no one else was awake. Jacob woke me up at 8 am with a big scream.

After breakfast we had to move my mattress back into another room and make the bed, how boring. I packed my bag and put in downstairs to be put on the coach.

After Lunch we left for Braintree. I give this four stars because Shane wasn’t sick
